Nineteen Crimes turned criminals into colonists. Upon conviction, these men, guilty of at least one of the 19 Crimes, were sentenced to live in Australia, rather than death. "The Banished" depicts James Mcnally Wilson (1832-1921). In 1867, Wilson was placed aboard the last convict ship to sail to Australia, beginning a sentence of hard, physical labour. However, in 1876 he managed to flee to New York, spending his remaining years in the U.S.
Full and round on the palate with a distinct sweetness making the wine rich and mouth coating. The palate has a long rich plush finish brooding with dark forest fruits.
